Fla. pastor denies responsibility for Afghan killings think again - "An angry mob took out its rage on selfless public servants and innocent bystanders who had no connection to the desecration of a Quran by a radical figure in Florida," Kerry said. Jones denied responsibility, and said Islam, not he or his church, ( i thought it was Christ’s church – are you one of these “come follow me I am the Christ type “ ? ) must be held accountable for inciting the crowds to violence. "The United States government and the United Nations itself must take immediate action," ( yes arrest and detain you on several issues under home land security and national security mandates ) Jones said in a statement. "We must hold these countries and people accountable for what they have done as well as for any excuses they may use to promote their terrorist activities." ( i bet your one of these kinds of people who say you are in a church built upon my fathers name, and say what are you going to do about it ? as you spit on me directly, and indirectly ) Last year, Jones threatened to burn a piles of Qurans on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks but cancelled the plans after pressure from President Obama and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. He promised at the time not to burn any Qurans. Obama, who has taken pains to isolate Jones as a fringe radical who does not represent the views of other Americans, condemned the deadly riots without mentioning Jones in an official statement. "Together with the American people, I offer my deepest condolences to those injured and killed, as well as to their loved ones," Obama said. maybe you should mention him in your official statement and not let others assume or speak for you in words that are not there that i can see in condolences to those lost – and act against this individual who is bound to send more American soldiers home in body bags, as i can see it – on your inactions, and ignorance to law and biblical scriptures – "Showing blatant disrespect for Muslims by burning their scriptures directly contradicts the example and spirit of Jesus, who taught us to love our neighbour as we love ourselves," said Galen Carey, director of government affairs for the National Association of Evangelicals. Quran-burning protests spread to Kandahar; 9 dead job well done Texas, and seconded by Obama’s inaction on the issue
From my E-mails – In a recent interview, Lt.-Gen. (retired) Shahid Aziz, a former Pakistani military general, answered a range of questions on the U.S. role in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, especially in the wake of the Raymond Davis issue. Lt.-Gen. Aziz has held key positions in the Pakistani military establishment, including as Director of Military Operations, Director General of the Analysis Wing of the powerful Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and Commander of the Lahore Corps. He served as Chief of General Staff at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army after the 9/11 attacks, and is known for his first-hand knowledge of Pakistan’s role in the U.S.-led war on terror. It should be noted here that soon after 9/11, Pakistan’s military ruler General Pervez Musharraf agreed to support the U.S.-led war on terror against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. In the interview with the Urdu-language daily Roznama Ummat, Lt.-Gen. Aziz accused the CIA of creating spy networks across Pakistan and masterminding bomb blasts and suicide attacks in the name of the mujahedeen, i.e. the Taliban. Opposing the U.S. drone attacks in Pakistan, he also accused the Pakistani leadership of creating national a furor over the Raymond Davis issue while ignoring the killing of hundreds of other Pakistanis in U.S. attacks in the tribal region. Long-standing anger over civilian casualties has been heightened by the Qur’an burning and the recent publication of gruesome photographs of the body of an unarmed Afghan teenager killed by U.S. soldiers. The Christian preacher Terry Jones, who after international condemnation last year cancelled a plan to burn copies of the Qur’an, supervised the burning of the book in front of a crowd of about 50 people at an obscure church in Florida on Sunday, according to his website. The Qur’an burning was denounced by Karzai and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. Thousands of demonstrators marched through western Herat city and around 200 in Kabul to protest against the same incident, but there was no violence at either demonstration.
